Product Description:

NORPROLAC (quinagolide hydrochloride) is a selective, D2 dopamine agonist that is used for the treatment of elevated levels of prolactin. The secretion of prolactin is reduced by the neurotransmitter dopamine which acts on prolactin-secreting cells in the pituitary gland. NORPROLAC (quinagolide hydrochloride) mimics the action of dopamine in the pituitary to reduce prolactin levels.

NORPROLAC (quinagolide hydrochloride) is not an ergot derivative and does not produce the serious adverse effects attributed to that class of substances.

Uses:

Hyperprolactinaemia (idiopathic or originating from a prolactin-secreting pituitary microadenoma or macroadenoma) associated with its clinical manifestations such as galactorrhoea, oligomenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, infertility and reduced libido.

NORPROLAC (quinagolide hydrochloride) is used to treat infertility in men and women, where hyperprolactinaemia is determined to be the cause.
